Overview

Quy Nhon is what Vietnam's beach destinations looked like before mass tourism arrived. This working port city has stunning crescent beaches, ancient Cham temple ruins, and fresh seafood at local prices - all without the crowds, touts, or tourist infrastructure of Nha Trang or Da Nang.

The city serves as central Vietnam's off-radar gem. Yes, getting here takes more effort than the big resorts. Yes, English isn't widely spoken. That's the point. Quy Nhon is for travelers who value authenticity over convenience.

Top Things to Do

1Explore the Thap Doi Cham Towers, well-preserved 12th-century temple ruins right in the city
2Swim at Ky Co beach, a stunning cove 25km north requiring a boat ride to reach
3Walk the Quy Nhon city beach at dawn with the local exercise crowd
4Eat banh xeo Quy Nhon style - smaller and crispier than the southern version
5Day trip to Eo Gio, a dramatic cliff gap where ocean waves crash through
6Ride to Bai Xep fishing village, a tiny community on a beautiful bay
