Da Lat
Cool highland city with French colonial villas, flower gardens, and adventure activities. Vietnam's honeymoon capital.
Overview
Da Lat is Vietnam's escape from the heat - a highland retreat at 1,500 meters where French colonizers built villas, planted pines, and introduced strawberries. The cool climate, flower gardens, and French-Vietnamese architecture create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the country.
Beyond the somewhat kitsch tourist attractions, Da Lat offers serious coffee culture (this is Vietnam's arabica heartland), adventure activities from canyoning to mountain biking, and a food scene that makes the most of the region's produce. It's also Vietnam's unofficial honeymoon capital.
